Prayer & White Light Request

Please send prayers and white light to my good friend Jill who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. (That's Jill and her hubby Joe in the photo above.) The diagnosis is so new, the doctors have more tests to run before they'll recommend a course of treatment. Jill is a warm and wonderful woman who is active and strong and we know she's going to kick cancer's ass! We are all hoping and praying for a miracle and we'll accept nothing less!

Elizabeth Edwards

In less than two hours, John Edwards is going to make an announcement about his wife Elizabeth's health. I believe in the power of prayer, white light, positive thoughts and karma. I am very sad to think--and I hope I'm wrong--that her cancer may have returned. She is an incredible person and the world needs more people like her. I hope the news is good news, or not-so-bad news. I hope John's announcement is just to keep the media from blowing things out of proportion. Mostly, I hope it's fantabulous news. No sign of cancer. All systems go!

I hope John's not dropping out of the race. I've liked him since he was running for president last time. I know Elizabeth wouldn't ask him to unless the news was very bad. I love that he makes helping the poor his biggest issue and I love his stand on everything else. Like his wife, I think he's a great thing in this world and he gives me hope.

Their family has been through so much. I hope and pray that they are not about to go though some more hard times in the near future.

The Michele Fund Auction is Underway!

Hi there!
I just wanted to post a couple of photos of Michele so everyone could see the person who our Fund is named after! The first pic is Michele and me at the RWA Rita & Golden Heart Ceremony in Reno, July of 2005. The second one is (obviously) a group of us at The Race for the Cure in February of 2006. Left to Right: Michele's wonderful husband John, Michele (Jersey Girl looking diva-ish in her pink ensemble), me and my mom Phyllis. I wish I had more photos to post, but I think that's all the photos of Michele I have saved to my computer.
Anyway, the auction is live right now! I hope you're all as excited as I am. I've already been outbid on the item I wanted. This means war! :)
Seriously, if you're new to the Blog, this auction is a fundraiser for Michele's medical bills for her breast cancer treatments, medication, co pays, etc. So it is a very good cause. We have 75 items and most of them would make fantastic holiday gifts. So, please check our auction out.
If the link doesn't work, please go to ebay and click on the link for Advanced Search (just below the search box on the top right) and where it says "From Sellers" click on "from specific sellers" and type: themichelefund in the box. This should pull up all 75 of our items.
Please pass this information on to your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers and thank you so much for spreading the word.

The auction is coming! The auction is coming!

The countdown to The Michelefund Auction is underway! Michele is a wonderful, giving, loving person who happens to have been diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2006. She also happens to be a special friend of mine (and of countless others), a wife, mother, daughter, sister, Christian, volunteer, animal-lover, a writer, a chef and many other things depending on who you ask. Michele is one of those people who can do anything. Michele is a SURVIVOR!

Unfortunately, being a breast cancer survivor costs a great deal of money. Earlier this year a bunch of writers, readers, cherries and others got together and donated items and we held an auction. The outpouring of love and support was incredible! After the auction was over, a few people asked if we were doing another auction. They were crafters, you see, and they needed some time to craft their donations. Pokey (from the beautiful Quilting Arts & Cloth Paper Scissors Magazines) helped organize our wonderful crafters and soon we had a huge lineup of (mostly) craft items for another auction.

This auction begins Monday, November 6. Yeah! Just in time for Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/pick-your-holiday shopping. I'm not kidding. You should see the beautiful items that our crafters made with such love and care. Most (not all) of them are included in this Fickr slide show. Have a look and drool. There's a couple of items I'll be bidding heavily on, let me tell you!

Please spread the word about our auction to your family and friends. You never know; you just might find the perfect holiday gift for that special someone and help Michele at the same time. Really, what could be better?
