Rutherford

Our beloved cat Rutherford hasn't been home in six nights! He comes home for dinner every night as well as the occasional breakfast if we're up early. It's not like him to stay away for so long. (I think the longest he's ever stayed away was three days.)

I've checked the local animal shelter's "lost and found" and "available pets" sections as well as the dreaded "deceased" section. No sign of our boy. Tomorrow I'll call some local vets. Please send good thoughts our way. We miss our little guy.

When we lived in Canada, we had cats who would regularly disappear for the entire summer. Eventually, they disappeared for the entire winter too and we gave them up for lost. Both, though, eventually came back, the black one though several years after we'd moved to the states so he'd found a new family to feed him in his old age.

So there's good reason to hope. :) And I hope he comes back soon.
