The no writing blues
I haven't been gettting any writing done. A friend of mine sent me this comic strip and it really cheered me up. So I thought I'd share it with you all... Unlike Danny, I do not hate everyone (just people who keep me from writing) and I do not want to brick up windows or commit suicide. Thank God.
My husband did the sweetest thing yesterday. He was at the library on his break and he bought me a book on shapeshifters at the library book sale. It reduced me to a pile of mush how thoughtful this small gesture was. (My WIP is about werewolves) It means so much when someone really "gets" this writer thing. Having it be my very own wonderful husband, made it all the sweeter.

Shapeshifters! Sooo nice.
Hey, I didn't know you had a blog! I've put you on both my blogroll and my In the Biz list.
Hi Brooke,
Thank you! I'm honored to be on linked to your faboo blog. It's really something. Would it be ok if I added a link to yours as well?
This is a new blog so I'm still working on it, trying to decide what to make of it. I'm wandering around and learning "blog etiquette" if there is such a thing. Newbie here.
Thanks for stopping by!
Kim:)
In your profile it says..."I'd never move unless it was to the Valencian province of Spain or Florence, Italy."
I'm wondering if you've been to Florence, and if so, where you stayed. We spent a fabulous two days at the Hotel de la Villa in Florence back in '98. It was the most magical city. My kids already know that when their Daddy is gone (the men always pass before the women in my family!), the only way they'll ever see mom again is to hop a plane for Florence. Actually, now that I'm thinking about that place, I really must blog about it!
And your blog is looking really awesome, Kim!!
Hi Dee,
My husband and I went to Spain in '97 (he has family there) but when he wanted to go back in '99, I insisted that we see other countries too. My first major in college was Art History and I'm half Italian, so Italy it was! Florence and Rome were maditory. With Florence and me it was love at first sight. I literally stepped off the train and fell head over heels. Ahhh, Firenze!
We spent three days in Rome and two days in Florence and when it was time to leave Florence to go to France I wanted to cry. Imagine? "Boo hoo, I have to go to Nice." But that's really how it felt to leave.
I loved visiting Rome, but Florece felt like somewhere I could live. I couldn't tell you the name of the hotel we stayed at w/o doing some research, though. We did it on a serious budget and we only stayed at little family-run places. No one believes it when I tell them we stayed for $35 and $40 a night on that whole trip (until we got to Madrid where we paid $65) but we did. In Nice our hotel balcony overlooked the Notre Dame Cathdral for 35 bucks! I love a bargain. Europe from $50 a day. Buy it. It's wonderful.
My husband speaks Spanish and is a quick study. Since Italian and Spanish are so similar, his Italian was nearly perfect. And he didn't even want to attempt French, so he just spoke Italian or Spanish there depending on who we spoke to when we were in France.
I imagine that when I move there (hee) I'll have to risk sounding stupid and start talking. I only know Italian swear words and silly expressions my Grandma taught me. I'm pretty good at following Spanish conversations, but I rarely ever speak. Verbs kill me, but I can string together a whole list of nouns like nobody's business. :)
The hubby talks about going back to Spain next year. I love the little mountain town his family lives in, Gorga (in the Valencian Province). He has another uncle in nearby Alcoi, which is a more a modern city with condos and apartments, but we both prefer Gorga's rustic small town charm.
I'd love to do it if we can start putting money aside now. I really want to see Ireland (that's my other half) and my father tells me we have relatives there. Or southern Italy and Greece. Must see that too. We'll see.
Yes, do go blog on it Dee. I must do some blogging myself. Just been too busy these last few days...
